Tod’s joins the Teatro alla Scala Foundation
Tod’s, one of the symbols of quality and italian lifestyle in the world, becomes a member of the Teatro alla Scala Foundation.
“The Tod’s Group is pleased and honoured to announce the support of Teatro alla Scala, which represents one of the biggest symbols of italian culture that the entire world admires”, says Diego Della Valle. “I believe that preserving the excellence in our country will help the world of art and culture, where Italy is certainly a leader, as well as helping to maintain a good reputation of our country, in order to attract more and more people from all over the world. This kind of collaboration can help the economy growth creating new jobs, especially for the new generation. I hope it will encourage many other entrepreneurs to undertake similar projects, which are essential to the future of our country”.
“Many international companies and organizations are aligning themselves with La Scala” – states the General Manager and Artistic Director Stéphane Lissner. “Tod’s, one of the most prestigious and well-known Italian companies in the world, has decided to support us. I am proud to say that through our efforts over the last few years we have attracted strong advocates that believe in our theatre, its productions and in our ability to confirm Teatro alla Scala’s position as Italy’s ‘Theatre for a European Today’.”
“I would like to thank Diego Della Valle,” he adds, “for the sensibility towards the importance of culture that he continually demonstrates. The decision to lend us support, I believe, is because he understands La Scala’s international status and how it can act as a bridge between Italy and the rest of the world. I appreciate his gesture, together with that of our other supporters, because it mirrors our particular philosophy: ‘Art is not a matter of opportunity or a necessity, but rather an act of civilization.’”
