Local and national charity projects

Supporting our country as an asset and treasure, protecting and working to improve is an integral part of the Group’s philosophy. To this end, the TOD'S Group has continued to act at a local and national level for many years, supporting Italy and the places it belongs to.

Donating 1% of net profit

The Group’s pledge to support the local area starts with its decision to donate 1% of net profit to several charity projects for local communities and vulnerable people living in the Marche region. Support ranges from food aid, with food parcels distributed to almost 30,000 people, to health care initiatives for people in difficulty and the “Missione Benessere” project for the elderly which has now approximately helped 2,000 people, giving them free access to welfare, information and recreational services. Help for the disabled is provided via the “Il volo delle farfalle” scheme, encouraging social integration and achievement for 250 young disabled people. The Group has set up a special charity fund to assist some 500 disadvantaged families, and it has enabled a group of school pupils to go on work placements in Italy and abroad. The Group’s contribution has also funded the new “Centro Giovanile Casette d’Ete”, a multipurpose meeting place that reflects the Group’s very real commitment to the people and places where the company is based. It is also a concrete example and an incentive for other Italian entrepreneurs.

The Arquata del Tronto factory

In the heart of an area struck by the 2016 earthquake, the TOD'S Group has built a new production plant in Arquata del Tronto. The 2,000 m2 site, home to footwear production, was built in under a year immediately after the earthquake in order to help provide jobs and a future for individuals and families affected by the terrible events.

TOD'S for San Patrignano

The partnership between the TOD'S Group and Italy’s San Patrignano rehabilitation Community has inspired some collections of leather goods which members of the Community have made themselves. It reflects a practical pledge to provide training for young people, who craft the products using leather donated by TOD'S and can draw on skills passed on by the Group’s master artisans. The collections were sold on the tods.com website and through the Group’s Outlet Stores, with all profits going straight to the Community.

TOD'S and Save the Children for Punto Luce di Barra

TOD'S has partnered with Save the Children to bring in 2015 a new “Light Source” (Punto Luce) to the Barra district of Naples. The 4,500 m2 education-focused space is located in a disadvantaged area of the city; it aims to welcome children and young people and provide them with educational and play facilities, technology devices and specialist advice.
